Escape From a ‘merica’ &
Live the Untethered Lifestyle of
Money AND Mobility!

Become a NOMADPRENEUR!

What is a Nomadpreneur?

Nomadpreneur is a portmanteau* of the words “nomadic” and “entrepreneur.” As the name implies, it refers to someone who has the mobility of being a nomad along with the income of being an entrepreneur. For many entrepreneurs, generating income tends to be “location-specific.” In other words, the entrepreneur is limited to specific location–geography, office, etc.–in order to generate income. Of course, in our modern, digitized, remote-enabled world, that limitation and barrier has been broken. Entrepreneurs are now free to create “location-free” income! Entrepreneurs can now be nomadpreneurs! They can generate income regardless of where they are in the world. (*portmanteau: a word blending the sounds and combining the meanings of two others, for example motel (from ‘motor’ and ‘hotel’) or brunch (from ‘breakfast’ and ‘lunch’).

Here’s My Story

Hi, my name is Walt Goodridge… Let me read you a quote:

“It takes far less effort to find and move to the society that has what you want than it does to try to reconstruct an existing society to match your standards.”–Harry Browne, How I Found Freedom in an Un-Free World

Several years ago, I did just that! I followed my passion, quit my job, escaped the rat race, ran off to a tropical island in the Pacific, and–with occasional jaunts to China, Singapore, Laos, Vietnam and other countries–have been living my dream life ever since…and I can help you do the same! Here’s a recent interview in which I share my story and what it’s like being Jamaican on Saipan!

Beyond the Digital Nomad

Nomadpreneurs expand the “digital nomad” lifestyle a bit. While many structure their income streams around the digitized products and services that an internet connection offers, others focus on being entrepreneurs doing a variety of pursuits in unique and exciting locations, limited only by their courage, imagination and wanderlust! Nomadpreneurs can find themselves being buskers in Europe, translators in Asia, consultants in North America, performers on cruise ships all in the same year! (Yes, some may focus more on the “nomad” part and less on the “preneur” part at any given time). Regardless of how they choose, the prime directive is FREEDOM!

Any “Merica” Will Do

When we say “Escape from a Merica,” the term “merica” is a euphemism for any society from which you find yourself craving freedom. So, any merica will do! There are some of us who are simply not wired for the societal norms in which we find ourselves. According to my philosophy:

There’s a Four-Step Process

Step 1. Prioritize Freedom.
Step 2. Identify your options.
Step 3. Escape towards your ideal.
Step 4. Find your tribe. (Even if you’re as out of place as a Jamaican in Asia!)
This process includes the practical aspects of setting up income streams, quitting the job, choosing and scouting your ideal destination, securing visas, getting your passport, making pre-arrival contacts as well as the psychological and emotional challenges of overcoming fear of the unknown, dealing with societal resistance and more!
Sometimes your “tribe” (i.e., the culture, society, worldview and expectations with which you resonate), is not the one into which you were born. If that sounds like you–or if you simply wish to have the flexibility of having both mobility AND money, then take a journey of escape with me!

Say Goodbye to a Few Recent Escapees!

Ken in Kyrgyzstan then Kazakhstan

Ken Marks, aka The Exotic Foreigner, is a recent coaching client who sought my advice to bring his “escape from America” dream to life! After a single session, Ken, who was born and lived all his life in New York, embarked on his first-ever trip outside the United States.. to experience Japan, then Kyrgyzstan ( a rugged Central Asian country along the Silk Road, the ancient trade route between China and the Mediterranean),then Kazahkstan, where he is now living out his dream life! Here’s Part 1 of a 3 -part interview with Ken who is renouncing his US citizenship to live in Kazakhstan!

Brian on Saipan

“Over the past few weeks, I really felt like maybe I shouldn’t move to Saipan, but now I am fairly confident it offers the exact life I dream of leading. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart Mr. Goodridge. I know I can do this now. I really can’t wait to meet you in person – I have plenty of questions, and your books are a big big part of why I’m here today and made it this far. Finding the courage to live life on my terms is very scary, but I have been drawing strength from your passages. I really can’t thank you enough…”Brian B.

Heru in Virgin Islands

“Walt has been a trusted friend and advisor of mine for almost two decades. If you are one of the many people who want to know HOW I created enterprises based on what I LOVE to do, how I was able to walk away from the world of J-O-B’s (= Just Over Broke) and never look back, and how I was able to Live True to myself and make my ‘Escape to Paradise,’ in the Virgin Islands, then you absolutely NEED to tune in on Monday evening! The Passion Prophet is the person who provided me with specific instruction on how to SUCCESSFULLY take my dreams and make them a Reality! Not only does he KNOW, but he has already LIVED on several continents, developed great relationships and created several positive financial opportunities in the process…”Heru (WUVI-AM 1090)

Take a Step:

CREATE LOCATION-FREE, PASSIVE INCOME
Location-free (as opposed to location-specific) income is money you generate that is free of any requirement to be in a specific place! Whether you’re on mountain in Tibet or in Iquito, Peru, you’re still generating money to survive!

ESCAPE FROM YOUR “MERICA” ONCE AND FOR ALL
“MERICA” is a metaphor for the materialistic lifestyle, banal preoccupations, narcissism and fakeness associated with the modern western lifestyle. Decide your destination(s), secure the passport and visa, set the date, prepare a local support system, buy the ticket, cut the tethers….and JET!

PREPARE FOR LIFE AS THE “EXOTIC FOREIGNER
There are a lot of perks to being “the exotic foreigner!” That’s what all the girls called Ken Marks, recent escapee from Brooklyn to Kyrgyzstan! (Yes, Kyrgyzstan!) Be forewarned: you might actually need a bit of preparation and time to adjust!
